I got this "This is Wiltshire" review of the year from Google Alerts... www.thisiswiltshire.co.uk/news/headlines/display.var.1091395.0.review_of_the_year.phpApparently, Grace's quote about Aisleyne, "a bird who looks like she belongs in Swindon or Slough" caused great offence in Swindon at the time. I can understand where they're coming from, but surely it's a compliment to Swindon? If all the women in Swindon looked like Aisleyne then I'd move there at once.  |

Grace is just plain nasty. I dont understand what she meant by that comment, but i dont think Swindon/Slough should be offended at all.

Clearly she meant it in a derogatory way which means, by implication, she was being derogatory about people from Swindon and Slough. I seem to remember Federicko in BB4 made a similar faux pas, although I can't remember the city he had a problem with  Regards Julian |

But no matter what spin they put on the use of the 'w' word, decent people will not tolerate it's use, nor will they allow it to be repeated without challenging its use. It's one of the most offensive words ever uttered on BB. |

It's one of the most offensive words ever uttered on BB. I find it racist because: A) It's a variant of you-know-what. B) It's saying someone's trying to act black by using street slang, which is a stereotype of black people. |
