Hi Gaffo...I have not read Petes Autobiography, I think Remaha from Fakers was going to buy it to see what all the fuss was about.. I must ask him if he did and what his thoughts were. I have to say that someone on TV tonight was talking about saving rainforests and stopping some people from using the trees to write their autobiography because basically when they are only about 20 years of age how the hell they can write about their life is beyond common sense....nobody HAS lived their life at 20 and really to be honest....its all a bit previous when there seems to be a big yawning future ahead... what would happen after another twenty years...would it be called a second time around life story?? Now my post in reply was not meant to be rude to you, it is actually a bit of a swipe at any of these young people who think they have actually LIVED such a hard life.... Pete had tourettes which is an extreme condition that not only can have great consequences on growing up but can be tiring and debilitating... What I have big trouble with is that Pete has manufactured himself. Pete had planned for at least five years or correct me if I am wrong there, but had planned in any case for a considerable length of time to go onto Big Brother... I dont know why anybody would want to waste five years of their life planning to go on BB because to me it is a very narrow view of life itself... surely there are other things to do in this world then plan your entire life around a tv series...? That having been said...his mother was an extremely accomplished performer working with one of the top most cossetted bands of 80s..the Communards..they were top band in every gay club in the country. Petes lifestyle was NOT anything like the childhood of most normal girls and boys and he would indeed have had a more priviledged set of friends via his mother... Of course I did,nt read the book so all my hot air could be entirely bunkum. I have to be truly fierce and say I DONT feel sorry for Pete whatsoever... I feel sorry for the children who may have bullied him, for their ignorance and lack of education towards an affliction... but instead of writing autobiographys to reach out for a sympathy vote..Pete could be out there campaigning religiously the problems of tourettes sufferers and using his BB winning Identity to slam the message home. By doing this, all the kids that treated him rotten when he was at school, would then be able to re-educate themselves or even their own children if they have any, how NOT to torment a tourettes sufferer. I cant feel sorry for Pete, but I CAN wish him luck. This young boy is a devilishly good looking young bloke with plenty of charm to get on in life. He does not need to resort to life stories until he has a LIFE to talk about..as far as I am concerned 20 years of age does not add up to any amount of time that I could respect or accept a life story autobiography from. I do like Pete incidently and hope my comments are not taken in disrespect of him, but instead as good common sense.

I think at the end of the day if you can write a book (or have one written) that people are interested in then why not do so?
The whole point of books is to entertain, if they do that and you can make money from that then go for it!
Regards

Good luck to Pete and his victory, but the more I hear about him and his background the more I feel that the whole victory was contrived. I will not be participating in BB8, the whole thing is a fix. They probably know who is going to win already. Ash should have won if not for Endemol's bias, the way they treated her was shoddy. Instead they promote the wrong kind of people for the wrong reasons. Pete obviously went in there to win and Endemol helped him, many people thought he was a saint, which has been proved wrong since. I think he was the most manipulative in the house but you couldn't see it clearly because on the surface he was the least anyone would suspect. Even the housemates were deluded about him he was constantly on a pedalstal
I don't necessarily dislike him because he was okay in the house, I guess he got lucky possibly because of his disability.
I really hated the way Nikki and Petes mum championed their kids at times it looked like abuse. IMO
With regards to Pete's book it is just another money making idea and I think that as the winner he has lost out on contracts because of his condition I think so the royalties derived from the book should make up for the loss.

Tis true ODM, I did buy it. I only read the last chapter though - the one about Big Brother - just to see what he said about Ash. And, if you remember, I reported that Pete didn't mention her once! I'm open to offers for the book. Bidding starts at 1p & p&p.

I'm sure I could get more if I joined a certain other forum?

But you can't blame Pete for the omission. Remember the Guardian article which revealed that Pete had broken new ground in the art of autobiography. We already knew that most of such books weren't written by the person themself; Pete took it to a new level by revealing he hadn't even read it! So, Remaha, your single chapter was one more than Pete managed!
