NEWSFLASH!!
AshFans is to become the forum for Aisleyne’s new officially recognized fan site.
The fan site OFFICIALLY AISLEYNE will launch in the near future.
AshFans will be an integral part of OFFICIALLY AISLEYNE, and so will be granted special access to Aisleyne and her management.
The website will include the latest news and photos. Other planned sections include competitions, plus a comprehensive photos and video gallery. Plus there will be one or two very special surprises!
This great development will see some alterations to AshFans. maringo is now administrator responsible for making changes to the design and layout as we upgrade to become the OFFICIALLY AISLEYNE Forum.
All forum members are advised to ensure that the email addresses in their profiles are correct to enable us to keep you informed of developments over the next few months. If you have any questions on this exciting news, please pm rudyrudyrudy.
A good deal of work remains to be done on the design of the new fan site. Accordingly, we are looking for members with html coding and/or graphic design skills for help. If you are able to offer your services please pm ju1ian.
We are running a competition to design the new site banner – see the special separate thread for details.

Can't wait for these new developments. It's very exciting. I'm afraid I have no design skills, but the simple change of text colour has made all the difference already. My one request is that the final design is slightly less pink. A touch of pink is OK. I myself am in posession of a pink shirt, and very proud of it, I am. But it's a bit unremitting at the moment. ;D Best wishes to all the team, I look forward to 'Officially Aisleyne' with anticipation.

:)Have to say myself that this is an exceedingly pink site. It does remind me a little of Barbie or Jordan..or a teen magazine...lol I mean that in the nicest sense. I think Emptybox is right about the Pink. A very light pink is probably a lot more classier looking. I am a speed touch typist but a terrible computer numpty so cannot help...can I be the one who stands back and says yea or nay...lol ;D

I promise to look into the pink issue at once. Any preferred colours? Ah! now I am put on the spot! I would imagine any colour provided that the background for writing was a pastel and perhaps the edging could be a little darker.....how am I doing? I've only been here five minutes and I have the attention of the King...lol ;D I just tried this post in two colours..the lighter pink is definately better...

The pink you've currently (6.15pm Sat) got set as the background matches my aforementioned shirt, so gets my approval. Perhaps with a subtle watermark through it? And shades of blue always go well with pink. However I would imagine you would want to tie together the design and colour-scheme of the forum with the main site and also the header, so they all come together as an entity. You could get together a few variations for her agent to let Ash see, so she could have some input into it.

Well it looks okay on my screen, the blocks look like peach and lilac with the separating bars in shocking pink, just don't make the larger areas into shocking pink or I'll go blind!
The only thing I'd ask is if you can make sure the pages don't go extra wide, this happens on some sites meaning I have to scroll back and forth to read each line, I've tried adjusting my computer but it never works, so if you can avoid that I'm happy.

Information Design and rigorous Usability studies say the red end of the spectrum is a disaster area for readability and reader retention. If you want to drive away readers, or hide something you have to show, but don't want people to read, use pink. I'm new on here, so it's most impertinent of me to pipe up so soon, but I urge you KILL THE PINK ASAP. Not merely an opinion, it's an objective imperative. Ask Jakob Nielsen.

That's a much much better look. i'm really sorry for being so strident, Maringo, but I hope you know me well enough from "elsewhere" to recognise that I'm a gentle, innocuous soul at heart, who strives for objectivity wherever possible. But that pink just HAD to go, and I'm so glad you've changed it. Well done!
