Worst-dressed Celebrity of the YearOrange Celebrity Awards 2006Don't be upset folks. All news is good news, and an award is an award no matter what it is. Runners up were Victoria Beckham, Jordan and Britney Spears, so she's in famous company. Unfortunately if you continue to flick through you will find a certain Nikki Grahame has been crowned 'Reality TV Celebrity of the Year'. If it's any consolation, they are not very complementary about her in the blurb. You can see the countdown of the Top 10 Worst-Dressed Celebs Of 2006 here with our girl at No. 1. The write up is not too bad. ;D

I think the plusses easily outweigh the negatives in this.
Just think about this for a minute. We know that the whole point of the Mobo/Click/Love Island/Jackass outfits was to be outrageous and to get press attention, NOT to play safe. Did it get attention? It most certainly did! It did at the time, and continued to do so; how many times (Jackass excepted till now) have those pictures re-appeared again and again? And here we are, at the end of 2006, those pics have been in so many end-of-year reviews and "awards". And Aisleyne has expressed her own views about adverse press and her outfits in the Q&A anyway. She doesn't care what they say!
LOOK here she is, can you believe No 1 over them all, Posh, Jordan, Britney, Li-Lo etc. What's being measured? Dress-sense? Nah! IMPACT! THAT'S what's being measured! Who gives a hoot about the reality TV category? Let's face it, the Endemol machine ensured who would win that one and I'd rather Ash not be mentioned at all than be a runner-up there. I'd say Chantelle, Pete or even Grace should have that category before Nikki anyway, but that's another debate!
What do they say? "Straight in at No1", See? IMPACT!
What do they call Aisleyne? "2006’s glamour girl extraordinaire" Is there anything to add to that? Well, how about Hear Hear?
"Jodie Marsh eat your heart out" Indeed, because could you see Jodie M being able to do either of those makeover shoots with More or Closer? Or fronting the Lipsy latest collection? Not a chance!
Finally the category is for "worst dressed", true, sad but true, but worst dressed what? CELEBRITY, that's what! CELEBRITY! Aisleyne is No 1 in a list of CELEBRITIES! (Am I overdoing this? Maybe, but I'M LOVIN' IT!)

So just to summerize your findings professor Onfi 1) Ash appears to have received the most press attention post BB, they are still talking about her (Front Page daily star today 27/12/06) 2) She's being quoted as a celebrity not Zelebrity 3) She's being measured next to the likes of Posh 4) She's still important enough to get attention by More and Closer What is it that they say beyond every grey cloud there's a silver lining.

What do Orange know about style? I hope Ais hasn't seen this. We, her fans, know better anyway. You look gorgeous Ais and you always have a great sense of style!

It shows what a fickle world we live in. Orange were 100% behind Aisleyne during BB and wanted her to win.

C'mon folks, haven't you read my post? Don't you get it? THIS IS GOOD NEWS!! Orange are doing Aisleyne a massive FAVOUR!
Do I have to spell it out AGAIN?
1. Aisleyne dressed to get publicity and attention. 2. She got so much publicity and attention that she got No1 spot in a year-end list beating Posh, Jordan, Britney, Paris etc etc. What the list is labelled is UTTERLY IRRELEVANT!
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. Ash will be DELIGHTED!

It's better to get slightly uncomplimentary publicity than no publicity at all. ;D

I know the publicity will end up being good for Aisleyne but I don't think that entered the thoughts of the person who wrote the piece for Orange.

Course it did, premiers. It was written by a meeja-person.
Do you really think this person carefully and objectively measured how badly all celebrities dressed during the year and that process just happened to throw up a list containing celeb goss big-hitters like Posh, Jordan, Britney, Paris etc? I'm sure you don't.
And would someone so appalled at Aisleyne's dress sense then name her as "2006's glamour girl extraordinaire".
In the event I don't know how much, if any, publicity this list will generate per se. It's the fact that it's such an indicator of how far Aisleyne has come since BB7 in publicity terms, that I find so exciting about it.

I agree that there's no such thing as bad publicity and, if Aisleyne was deliberately dressing badly in order to gain such publicity then it certainly did the trick. On the other hand, if Aisleyne was under the impression that she looked good in some of the outfits which I would tend to agree with commentators looked pretty awful then it does tend to suggest a chink in the otherwise perfection that is Ash. Suffice it to say, although I love her to bits, I'm not entirely convinced about the Aisleyne's dress sense Not that I'm the world's greatest fashion critic I suppose. Maybe I'm just too much of an old fuddy-duddy ;D Regards Julian

But I'd rather she didn't become the butt of nasty jokes and comments within media circles, because this is very much how it appears to me. Fortunately it isn't that high profile so I don't think it's really going to matter. It'll be someone else soon enough, so I'm not going to worry about it. Orange are obviously stuck in the dark ages.

If you're playing the Fame Game, which Aisleyne most certainly is, the worst thing that can happen in to you in media circles is to be ignored. I say again, it's not how much profile this list has, it's how much profile it shows that Aisleyne now has.

The fact Victoria Beckham is in there shows this "awards" thing is rubbish. The woman has ruled the fashion industry all year.
Aisleyne, Britnet, Victoria ... all the top 10 are people who show individuality.
I'd rather be in that top 10 than in with the "Best 10" who basically all dress the same, and are really boring.
Who votes for these things anyways???

I see from her post that Aisleyne thinks it's "hilarious", and despite what Clash says I DIDN'T forge her statement!
So congratulations Aisleyne on beating Posh, Jordan, Britney etc And I see your netball and Daily Star colleague Michelle Heaton made it on to the list as well. Have you and she had a laugh about it?
