More poll - Aisleyne V Nikki

There's a new poll on the More website where you can say whether you read Aisleyne's or Nikki's column first. It's slightly biased towards Nikki as her column is always before Aisleyne's in the magazine.

Remember who you're up against. These Nikkifanatics have sworn terrible oaths binding them to vote in internet polls "till their fingers bleed". Al-quaeda are a bunch of apathetic wishy-washies by comparison to the Bleeding Finger Brigade of "Nikki Pollards". Look how they turned round the phone votes from BB7 (when their pocket money ran out) to the NTAs. Despite their virtually total lack of any brains whatsoever, they have used low animal cunning and their geeky brothers expertise to learn how overcome the cookie barriers. Know your enemy, people. They are stupid, but DANGEROUS!

You would think that as Ais is popular in More Magazine and has her problem column in there that she would naturally have any article placed before another BB Member.. but if there is one by Nikki as well... oh well...

Perhaps people are genuinely unaware of the existance of stupidity between fans of Nikki and Ash fighting for top place on the table. Really you know, we are all a bit too grown up to get drawn into Kiddywars..which is what this clearly is. Aisleyne uses the phrase 'know yourself'.. now if we really do, surely we do not have to get embroiled in all this ridiculous poll stuff about 'who is out in front'. Grown ups dont do those things do they??

Hey, Im on everyones side but this is kids stuff. I gotta go forward in life and not back. Ya get me?? Aisleyne is a beautiful girl who was bullied...she does,nt spend her day worrying that Nikki is polled higher than her in a Magazine..though it puzzles me why that poll is in there in the first place..

and one other thing we all know surely that the more we respond to things the more we energise ' the other side'. Aisleyne does,nt give a stuff about a poll vote..look at her, shes beautiful, gifted and flying high...why worry eh??

I only posted the poll for everybody's perusal. People can vote or not vote, it's their choice.

Personally, I agree with your comments about it being slightly childish.

I guess I laid the irony on a bit too thickly, odm. I was attempting to make precisely the point you are making about the infantile view the Nikkimaniacs clearly have about these things, compared to the maturity and sophistication of the likes of thee and me. It's a generation gap thing (in my case two generations!)

I suppose that More mag puts the polls in for two main reasons First and foremost it's to generate traffic and clicks, and to maximise exposure to advertising (ofni's "Deep Throat" Rule - FOLLOW THE MONEY!). Second, it's for reader feedback, along with many other tools and techniques available to a huge organisation like EMAP. Quite how they assess the "votes" they get, and how they treat the "bleeding finger factor" I don't know, but it all must go into the pot along with all the other data, and the magazine content is tuned to suit. They may "heart" Aisleyne, because she's so sweet and professional and beautiful, but they will continue to "heart" her only as long as she continues to shift copies off the shelves!
